Compared with the TMC2100 stepper motor drive module, the TMC2208 drive module generates less heat. The TMC2208 has a heating effect of about 0.8A and the 2100 has a heating effect of 0.5A. It can be used interchangeably with the TMC2100.
The TMC2208 drive step value is calculated according to 16 subdivisions. The chip internally uses a differential algorithm to extend the 16 subdivisions to 256 subdivisions.
